I did two double spread illustrations for Swedish Audi magazine, the article was about how cars in the future might be able to run on water... so they requested waterish-surreal images and I used watercolours for maximal water-feeling.
No, what I usually get is a rough mock-up so I know how to shape my illustration, but this really awesome production company is making the layouts. I'm just an illustrator

And no, magazines have ppl to do the layouts, I get to do all the fun work Only thing is I make sure its right DPI for print, 300 dpi, and CMYK-colors so they're not completely off when they print... but sometimes magazines make the color profile change themselves for best result So it's mostly all fun
