Wet Media by OhAnneli Wet Media by OhAnneli
I put together some of my ink work, and I quite like the whole feeling going on... sometimes I draw so many different things I feel all schizo, but kind of narrowing things down a bit, and boxing it up, can make me feel more in control of things. Especially when you reach out to new clients and magazines, then you kind of need a genre or some kind of coherent package.

I dont think one man alone can take credit for inspiration as for the over all picture... its a bit of everything ^^; but Lautrec is definitely an awesome artist! along with Chagall, Monet, Manet, mixed with the new street artists like Miss Van, Fafi and pop artists like Junko Mizuno

I definetely sensed some early century french, and possibly(I say this with absolutely the highest regard, despite my generaly loathing of the word) the minimalistic styles of nouveau. I hate the word minimalism, because I hate empty space: it's one the reason's I love Miyazaki's films: the scene's are crammed with clutter! There's so much detail, you couldn't possibly appreciate it all in one sitting.
To quote Ron Perlman "It's like chocolate mouse, you just have to eat it."
Notwithstanding he was refering to the Troll Market.

I understand what you mean by a bit of everything: i'm like that. I look at my stuff and everything that goes into everyone, and I think 'dude I have got to be deranged to think I can compress that many influences into one dude': here's an example. I got a guy inspired by Sephiroth, The OUtlaw Josie Wales, Jerry Weintrob, The Phantom of the Opera, Rorschach, The Joker, Willie Wonka, BIll Murray, Jack Nicholson, Batman, Spawn, and Alucard. And he signs like Nick Cave/Dan Zig/Elvis at one in an episode.

I'm really curious: what're ALL your influence. Go on: junk all over me! YOu know you want to.

Do it.
